The top seeds for Group B and D would be the Black Stars and the Elephants respectively while co-hosts Equatorial Guinea and Gabon lead groups A and C
Two west African giants Ghana and Ivory Coast have been seeded for the draw of the 2012 Africa Cup of Nations (Afcon) being held October 29. Also making the cut for the top seeded teams Gabon and Equatorial Guinea given that they will be co-hosting the tournament.According to the continental football governing body, Caf, the west Africans were selected based on their previous records and qualifying performances.
The remaining 12 teams will be categorised have been placed in three other pots based on their results in the last three editions of the Afcon.
The draw will take place in Equatorial Guinea's capital city of Malabo in two weeks time. The 28th edition of the continental showpiece will be played from January 21 to February 12.
