Claudio Ranieri is working hard to resolve Inter's difficulties - Javier Zanetti

The veteran has backed his boss to continue the groundwork he has laid down at San Siro since his appointment after taking over from former coach Gasperini

Inter captain Javier Zanetti believes coach Claudio Ranieri is doing all he can to resolve the early season troubles in Serie A.

Ranieri replaced Gian Piero Gasperini following a poor start to the 2011-12 campaign and he has tried to stop the leaks from spreading as Inter have earned just four points from five matches in their domestic league.

Zanetti has credited the coach for the work he has done so far despite the 3-0 loss against Napoli in the last Serie A match before the international break.

"At the moment Ranieri is looking for the team to be more compact so that we can resolve our difficulties," Zanetti told Sky Sport Italia.

Zanetti was asked about the defeat against Napoli following the errors made by referee Gianluca Rocchi in the game.

However, the Argentine glossed over the problems and said it is time to move on.

"I believe the referee made a mistake. It can happen. In any case we are a great group and we must move forward," he concluded.

Inter are currently 17th in the league and play Catania on Saturday.
